Valentine’s Day Treats for Your Furry Best Friend

Valentine’s Day is all about love, and who deserves a special treat more than your loyal best friend? Here's a homemade, dog-friendly Valentine’s Day treat made with love!

Peanut Butter & Pumpkin Heart-Shaped Dog Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter (make sure it’s xylitol-free!)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for grain-sensitive pups)
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin purée, peanut butter, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour and cinnamon, stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
  5. Use heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut out treats and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the treats are firm and golden brown.
  7. Let them cool completely before serving to your pup!

Store the treats in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for longer-lasting goodies.
